Outlook updated new mail notifications have been a hit-and-miss affair throughout the Win10 beta as the notification system morphed, but there have always been ways to get them to work, or at least mostly work.
In , Outlook notifications no longer display at all for me, though they do sometimes accumulate in the notification center, which I didn’t really care about. I’m hoping others are not seeing this issue at this late stage but am interested in knowing. Kindly click on the Windows search bar and type in feedback, you see the feedback app.

Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. I’ve even heard that while it’s a little better in , it’s not working fully with it either, so I suspect the problem lies squarely with the fledgling Windows notification system as opposed to any given application.
Workaround that’s good with and probably slightly older builds: bring up Task Manager Details tab , scroll to shellexperiencehost. No reboot needed. Notifications will then behave normally again The Notification tray icon goes white but does not display the actual notification, which seems to point to the notification system being buggy.
Also if the bring up the notification panel and click the new mail notification, nothing happens, besides the notification being deleted from the panel.
A couple things changed recently, at least here. First, the primary problem of notifications not displaying was fixed, at least for Outlook Second, and this may be directly related, a notification history for Outlook is no longer kept in the Action Center , which for me is a fair trade-off.
When you say that you’re not getting notifications for new emails not speaking of history, but the display of notifications on the desktop , are you saying never? If that’s the case, then I think somehow yours became disabled. Check settings in both Outlook and Windows to ensure that notifications are enabled. It’s possible that you’re talking about the old problem of notifications just working for a while, but if so, I have no explanation for that if you’re current with your Office and Windows patches.
Not sure why that’s disabled by default for only that item as the rest are enabled. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
I think this is a better question for here where the Outlook users are. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
