I did NOT try the download because I wasn’t sure that it’d actually work. However, if you want a secure option to try, you can attempt this as it comes from the Microsoft site. If anything happens or you can’t activate, you can just report the steps you took to Microsoft Customer Service and maybe figure something out.

You’ll be safeguarded from being accused of trying to steal, for instance, because you went to a verified site and simply entered your serial.
